Anyone who is over 16 years and lives within the Renfrewshire area can join by visiting our office at 26 Church Street,  Johnstone.

You will need to bring along:

Current evidence of residence within the common bond for example a utility bill or a bank statement (this must be no more than two months old).

Provide photographic proof of identity for example passport or driving licence.

Pay a £2 non refundable joining fee and a minimum of £5 deposit into shares.  (Maximum shares you can deposit within first year is £1000)

Or alternatively you can join us via the join us  or join and borow button on the website. If using your phone view on desktop site/view.

If joining via the website look out for the email with instructions on what to do next. You should receive this at the latest a day after your application or on the next business day after the weekend.

On activation of your account you will receive a new member pack in the post.

 

Junior Accounts

 Junior savers must be under 16 years of age and live within Renfrewshire.

The account can be opened by a current member by completing a Junior Application form - this form must be signed by the child's parent or guardian and a copy of the child's birth certificate must be provided.

A minimum £10 must be deposited when joining and payments can be made into the account by standing order,bank transfer or in the office paying cash or card.

The adult who opens the child's account is the Account holder. The account will be converted to an adult account when the child is 16 years old. The Account Holder can choose to control the account until the child is 18 years old.

The maximum deposit in the first year is £1000 and the maximum  overall shareholdings for a junior account is £5000.

When the child is 16/18 years old the Account Holder will be contacted and advised that the child must then complete an adult membership form and provide proof of address and photo ID.

If a membership form is not completed within 1 month, the junior account will be closed and the Account Holder will be sent a cheque for the balance.
